The Bloody Banquet

A celebration of Ishgard's victory over the dragon attacks was held in Ul'dah. The feast was also important in strengthening ties with Ishgard. Among the guests were leaders and notable figures from Gridania, Limsa Lominsa, Ul'dah, and Ishgard attended the event. The Scions and the Crystal Braves were also present as they played critical roles in uniting the nations.

However, the night would quickly turn bloody.

Several members of the Crystal Braves had long betrayed its cause and the Scions, notably that of Ilberd, Yuyuhase, and Laurentius. They, along with a member of the Syndicate, Teledji Adeledji accuses you of poisoning and murdering the young Sultana Nanamo Ul Namo, having retrieved the poison vial from your belongings. You are bounded for the crime and the rest of the Scions are accused of being complicit in the murder.

Raubahn Aldynn, general of The Immortal Flames (Ul'dah's military strength) and loyal to Nanamo, sees through Teledji's happy glee of announcing Nanamo's death. Raubahn in grief and anger, shouts that it was Teledji who is the real culprit in Nanamo's murder. Swiftly, he cuts Teledji down, executing him in front of everyone.

The execution causes more chaos and the room is in an uproar with guests fleeing out. Lolorito, another member of the Syndicate, reprimands Raubahn that it is forbidden to draw steel and slaughter in the royal chambers. Lolorito believes Raubahn is also in league with the Scions in all of this.

Raubahn, still in grief and anger over Nanamo's death, charges at Lolorito believing he is part of Teledji's scheme. But before he could get to Lolorito, Ilberd quickly jumps in between and draws his sword. With a quick swing of his sword, Ilberd cuts Raubahn's left arm completely off.

With the growing tensions, the leaders of the other nations were quickly ushered out of the banquet room as they were powerless to intervene.

Lolorito orders the arrest of you, the Scions, and Raubahn. Ilberd then admits quietly to Raubahn that is was him who really killed Raubahn's precious sultana. With a surge of strength and determination, Raubahn and Ilberd ensues in a battle. Raubahn helps cut off your bindings, never believing the accusations thrown at you and the Scions. He urges you all to flee and clear your names of this injustice.

Scattered Escape

The Scions quickly flee the room but their pursuers are closing in. Yda and Papalymo stays within the city to fight off the pursers and to give you the time to flee.

The rest of you flee into the hidden tunnel passages within the palace walls. But the pursuers are closing in. The hidden tunnels not quite so secret. Y'shtola and Thancred stays in tunnels to fight off the oncoming pursers, urging you and Minfilia to flee.

As you and Miniflia continue to run, Hydaelyn speaks to Minfilia. Stopping in your tracks, Minfilia turns to you and urge you to go onward without her. She must remain behind. You do not want to depart from her, but Minfilia pleads,

"Please, you must go on! You are the Warrior of Light! You are hope─for the Scions, and for all the realm! As long as your flame continues to burn, the light of the dawn may ever be relit!

You must escape, and save Eorzea from those who would plunge it into darkness!"

This plea pains me so much because it is evident on your character's action that they do not want Minfilia to remain. In hindsight of being caught up to the main story quests, it hurts even more, knowing what comes after.

You continue to escape and reach outside, where you are reunited with Alphinaud and a new companion, Pipin. Alphinaud asks of the others and you shake your head. They are not with you.

You, Alphinaud, and Pipin escape Ul'dah city on a chocobo carriage. You are quickly reunited with Cid who will help fly you and Alphinaud somewhere safe. With the Rising Stones on watch by your foes and the defamation to your name and the Scions, Coerthas would be the safest location to flee to as Ishgard will not suffer the intrusion of foreign forces.

To Coerthas Central Highlands you go. To Camp Dragonhead.
